Metallurgical production of Motovilikhinskie Zavody is a modern process facilities on producing steel, forgings, formings, hot-rolled bar products, and it operates all kinds of metal conversion.

Within the program of metallurgical facilities renewal a Danieli forging plant, a VD/VOD (Danieli) vacuum steel degassing unit (vacuum vessel), and an air separation unit were installed at the Works in 2008-2010.

Electric arc furnace ДСП-60 (FAI-FUCHS) is the heart of metallurgical production. The furnace is equipped with automatic control providing the output of 60 tons of melted steel per 70 minutes at minimum power consumption.

Ladle furnace is an automated facility of steel treatment (AFST) takes 40-60 minutes to develop melted steel to specified chemical contents with minimal concentration of gases and nonmetal inclusions.

Four automated steel continuous casting units provide steel teeming. By that the teeming platform is on the height of +21 m. Two single strand plants are designed for slab production; two three strand plants are for bloom production.

The facilities also include four electroslag refining furnaces (ESR) designed to obtain special purpose ingot.

Bar production is carried out by means of heavy section mill “710” and light section mill “350” (in combination with hot drop saws, fridge, and cold plate levelers).

Forging facilities are equipped with pressing machines with the force of 1500, 2000 and 3000 (tf), each of them is equipped with a floor-stand track-riding manipulator.

Different forming configurations are being produced by hammers, the weight of falling parts in them is 2-6 t, and by hydraulic presses with the force of 450 and 700 tf.

The key feature of the steel produced at the enterprise is low concentration of harmful components and non-metal inclusions. "Motovilikha” engineers are able to develop variations of steel chemical contents at the customers` request. Availability of all types of heat treatment allows fulfilling almost any tasks to reinforce rolled products, forgings, formings within the chemical contents potential of steel of which they are made.

There is product quality control system at Motovilikhinskie Zavody, it includes modern nondestructive inspection methods: ultrasonic, magnetic,  fluorescing, and x-ray. It allows revealing the defects timely and evaluating the macro- and microstructure of forgings, formings, and rolled products.

Nowadays Motovilikhinskie Zavody manufacture crude car and locomotive axles which are of high demand in manufacturing railway vehicles. In 2007-2008 the plant started production of rollers, i.e. the equipment for metallurgical enterprises. And for today these products survived at the market and proved their ability of being relevant.

State-of-the-art special purpose equipment allows producing goods at certain customer’s request, low-tonnage batches, and with specific requirements. Motovilikhinskie Zavody products are recognized in our country and abroad.

A part of products made by Motovilikhinskie Zavody is exported to European countries as products quality is proved by international certificates: ABS (USA), Lloyd’s Register (Great Britain), DNV (Norway), SLV-U (Germany).
